Alta Sierra (CA)

Founded in 1982 as Shirley Meadows Ski Area, the name was changed to Alta Sierra Ski Resort in 2006, a few years after a change in ownership.
Alta Sierra is located on the Kern River Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest, in the Greenhorn Mountains, approximately 50 miles east of Bakersfield, California.
