Known for huge snow dumps and gnarly Pacific storms that give way to bluebird sunny skies, Cali also boasts some of the most scenic ski areas around and some of the best corn snow and Spring skiing conditions.
Cedar Pass (CA)
Resort Classification: (Class 1) Town Hill
Nestled in the majestic Warner Mountains about 19 miles East of the small town of Alturas, is likely the most down home, laid back and friendly ski area in the state of California.
At a base altitude of roughly 6,300ft just of off of the CA-299, Cedar Pass has one T-Bar and one rope tow servicing about 500 vertical feet of terrain and 12 different trails.
Cedar Pass has base lodge with cheap rentals, concessions and a bbq outside on sunny days. $30 day tickets for the T-bar are the best priced in state, and the ski area has just enough terrain for a little bit of exploring and fun.
Nordic and snowshoe trails exist near the base as well and parking is always free.

-It’s warm vibe and cheap lift tickets.
-Being a 100% volunteer run and not for profit ski area serving two local communities on either side of the pass.

-No snow making, and completely reliant on Mother Nature.
